4th grade is a challenging year! Students can be overwhelmed by the amount of curriculum presented to them and so, in order to continue to motivate my students, I incorporate art into all areas of their academics. Using color and art to teach (and decorate) is an effective tool that not only allows my students to be creative, but gives them another way to tap into their resources and fully engage themselves in learning! For each core academic area (math, writing, science, social studies, and language arts), I develop art projects that closely match up with the curriculum as well as adds a POP of color to our room. Not only do these academic art projects foster their learning of the subjects, but it also gives them a creative outlet and beautifies our classroom, from ceiling to floor!

All projects are then displayed on our color-coded walls! These projects enhance they overall atmosphere of our room and radiates creativity and learning! My students work hard at their learning which is why adding color to our decor through art is extremely important! My students are proud and honored to hang their projects and know that they not only created their own masterpieces, but they also added to the overall passion for learning in our room.
