Colors are used to distinguish teams in the classroom management system. Reading groups are also divided into color teams to help the student organize and quickly group for small-group activities. I also use colored backgrounds on important information for my students work walls. Vocabulary word are put on purple, Think-Pair- Share partners are put on orange, Common Core State Standards that are being met in lessons are put on red, and I Can Statements are put on blue. Using bright colors makes our classroom cozy and comfortable for 7 &8 year old children while helping them stay organized and find critical components of daily lessons easily.
