I had to redecorate my pink and black classroom this summer after all of the classrooms were repainted. I now had a beige classroom with a bright (very bright) orange accent wall. I must admit, I was a little anxious about the color at first. But I soon found a design that I was happy with. After completing the initial decor, I still felt the room was missing something, so I accented the room with handmade poms and paper lollies (cute and much cheaper than pre-made ones), and added a few lanterns to create a fun , yet inviting environment for my students. I used baskets and containers from the dollar store to create supply boxes and work trays for the groups in the class. The students LOVE my room! They always comment about how neat the room is or how great it smells ( I use a citrus and vanilla freshener to go with the Orange theme). Before this school year, I had never attempted such a bright, bold design, but I’m glad I did! I am so pleased with the way the room turned out.
