I wanted my classroom to be a place that students would LOVE to come to learn. I wanted it to feel warm and inviting so that kids would feel at home. The room is painted light blue. I used multicolored accents throughout the room. My favorite part of the room is the multicolored button rug in the library center. My students LOVE Pete the Cat. When I saw this rug, I immediately thought of Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons! 🙂 It goes perfectly with the Pete the Cat bulletin board. The first week of school, my students created self-portraits that we used to decorate the back wall. These add so much color and really make the students feel like this is their room. Hopefully this is a place that makes students excited about learning!
