Using colors for small group instruction, interactive word wall, and display student’s work.
For small group instruction I use individualized stations maps. Every student’s map is different. I called them maps because it tells my student where they need to go for that specific rotation. For example I tell them today we will go to angry bird red number 1: that student would know that he needs to go to the dark blue station. The minion is me; and blue’s clues means: complete independent work for the lesson of the day.
I have containers that match the map colors/images where they can found the materials for each station. The math centers have a black background and literacy doesn’t have a background.
To direct my students where they need to go, I have been using colored lanterns. There lanterns are placed above the location where they will be working for that station.
For my interactive word wall and to display student’s work I have also used my three favorite neon colors: pink, green and blue.
